Styrofoam Project

In 1989 UC San Diego passed a policy that asked vendors to avoid styrofoam at all costs.  In 2010, almost all vendors in Price Center still use styrofoam clam shells and cups to deliver food to students.

Styrofoam is not only one of the most commonly landfilled products, its production is also hazardous to the health of both workers and consumers.  UCSD students have finally started asking that the vendors in Price Center and the Student Center be held accountable for the 1989 policy, and the negative health and environmental effects of styrofoam.
